the project began with the landform process of scouring, which was defined as the act of cleaning, as well as the aftermath of the gathered detritus, post-scour. focusing on the act of cleaning, the architecture creates a didactic building that serves as a tool for investigating sustainable water treatment research. the building’s location so happened to be at the convergence of several storm drains and an underground creek, thus being an ideal testing facility for water filtration.
